Buying the retail version will allow you to reuse the operating system if you want to build a new computer. OEM allows a limited number of hardware changes. The retail version can be activated on any one computer you want.

Yes I agree with the others on this, I am a PC Builder and build many machines per day. OEM is fine, The retail just comes with Fluff and phone support for a year, the OEM does not come with this. So if you feel comfortable enough to build a machine yourself, then OEM is the way to go.

In my opinion the OEM will be just fine – make sure you get a number that is all, at the end of the day that is what you are paying for

I did a custom build 2 years ago and got an OEM Version. Only diff I found bewteen the OEM and the full version is it comes in an envalope with a booklet and your regkey, while the full comes with the same in a box and a bigger book. It IS worth getting the OEM Version if your on a budget and you don’t want a box and a bigger book. I built my system 2 years ago and I’ve had no issues with that version.
