eMachines® eME627 Laptop Computer reviews and opinions?

Author: Administrator | Files under Reviews

I am thinking of getting this laptop from Walmart on black friday but I need others input. I’ve never heard of eMachines products before. I own an Acer Netbook and they were new from last year and it’s great! This eMachine laptop is going for $198 at walmart tomorrow morning. I need suggestions and opinions. BTW, I like burning CDs and watching DVDs on the laptop, also I’n gonna get the SIMS 3 lol so it will take up alot of memory… is this gonna be a good enough laptop?

i would say go for it. it’s a great deal. don’t listen to "windows 7 is RAM hungry." that’s complete BS. i’m running Windows 7 on a 3 year old laptop with a 1.73 GHz proc and 1 GB RAM and it’s running great. of course all the visual effects are off but who really wants all that eye candy when it’s really not needed. Microsoft has really improved on how this new OS handles memory. this laptop would be good for the usual web crawling, light gaming, and for school. i’m honestly thinking about going to wally world tomorrow to get it myself.

As long as you use it for internet, this laptop is OK. If you drop it, its done deal. If you use it for industrial application or for some high-end software, it will not run at all or run very slow. Windows 7 is hungry for RAM. This one has only 2 GB, barely enough for Windows 7.
Again, depending on what u use it for, I cannot recommend against it or for it.
