This is for an Engligh assignment Im doing.
Im writing a debate, and my argument is against social networking, and how it distracts the youth from school and what-not.
Anyone like to give me some good ideas about some disadvantages of social networking, or like to mention some bad experiences they’ve had with social networking?

*It can waste a lot of time.
*Social networking can be very addicting.
*It opens up someone’s whole life to the world. Teaching kids that everything should be public to everyone and to have no shame in everyone knowing everything about you.
*It can be dangerous for careless minors.

A good one would be all the stalkers and rapes that happen cause of it. Personally i don”t think its the social networking that is the issue, its the horrible parenting that has been going on. If a kid is brought up right, then there is no negative effects. HEY there is two interesting topics. Enjoy.

1-contributes to cyberbullying
2-it becomes addicting/people get obsessed
3-time consuming
4-people who are on it often don”t get as much exercise
5-kids have less time to do homework
6-non-age appropriate sites can be brought up through adds
7-contact with stangers is made possible

That”s easy chat sites and profile sites have been going all over the news. You don”t know the other person on the other side of the screen, you may think that he or she you added is your friend but not really, stalker, stranger, rape, sexual intercourse, how one can make you believe that one is real.

I think there is no such thing as disadvantages to the social networking sites. Its neutral and is of many good usage, but the love of this this sites is the root of all kinds of negative results. If you are addicted, you don”t have to blame these sites. Have discipline to restrain from using these sites.

You may begin to live your life online.
It is very addicting and very time consuming; also there isn”t actually much to do on the sites, so time is wasted. I know my friends always update saying trying to revise but distracted by facebook.
It”s better to get out and see people or call people sometimes.
It is easier for people to bully you if they have access to your information and pictures.
Any info/ pics you put up may come back to haunt you (people have been sacked/ not got jobs because of things they”ve put on the internet.
