Exposed early this month, Toshiba’s first Tegra 2 (250) based mobile internet device slash ‘cloudbook’, the AC100/dynabook AZ, has now been officially announced and confirmed for an August release.
Pegged as an instant-on solution for Internet browsing and light document editing, Toshiba’s portable machine measures 262 x 190 x 21 mm, weights as low as 870 grams and boasts a full-size keyboard, a 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) LED-backlit display, the Tegra 250 SoC clocked at 1GHz, 512MB of RAM, 16GB of flashy storage, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and mobile broadband connectivity.
The AC100/dynabook AZ runs the Android 2.1 OS and also makes use of a 3-cell battery enabling up to 8 hours of operation. No word on pricing yet though.
